Tressa's Journey:
From a very young age, Tressa always wanted to be a helper. Her earliest desire was to be a pediatric cardiologist, as a survivor of a congenital heart defect. Unfortunately, biology left her a bit squeamish. She then turned her sights to the theater, in hopes that entertaining others might be a way to bring light to the world. After a year and a half of study in college, she realized that acting was also not the career path for her. She was taking some psychology classes at the time, and it was there that she truly found my passion. She continued her education in psychology, then pursued her Master's degree in Counseling. She has been working in that field since 2005. She opened her own private counseling practice in 2014, focusing on helping people who had experienced trauma. She became a certified trauma therapist, and is so fulfilled by the work that she does. Her clients inspire her every day. It was through her professional life that she began to realize the traumas that had kept her feeling small and insufficient, despite her accomplishments. She began a journey through healing that took her to an inner world she had never imagined before. Through working with two very masterful therapists, Tressa was able to understand and accept pieces of herself that she had carefully locked away because of the pain they had caused her. She began meditating as part of her healing journey and discovered a true place of refuge and wisdom that existed right inside of herself. At that time, her therapist encouraged her to pursue certification in teaching mindfulness meditation, and Tressa followed her advice. She also discovered the power of Reiki healing during that time, and pursued training as a Reiki Master. These healing and insight-oriented practices have truly helped her to discover and embrace who she truly is, and Tressa am so excited to share these gifts and teachings with others. She is endlessly grateful for the teachers and healers who have helped her along her journey, along with the friends and loved ones who have supported her. Thank you for taking the time to read about her journey. Tressa is so appreciative that you are here.
